Gundog Training Program
Beginner Gundog Training
$650/month - 4 months
Our beginner gundog program is a 4 month program that is for the outdoorsman wanting a hunting dog they can rely on. The program consists of 1 month of general obedience training, .5 months of collar conditioning, 1 month of force fetch, and 1.5 months of steadiness, introduction to the gunshot, live birds, water and retrieving up to 100 yds. At the end of this training your dog will have the foundation needed for introduction to the field or the duck blind. Before he or she goes home we will have some one on one training sessions where they will demonstrate their skills and allow you to do the handling. This training session will consist of the dog walking at heel to the hunting bucket, sitting at heel while a bird is launched, the gun is shot and the bird lands on the ground. the dog will then be released to retrieve the bird, proceed directly to the bird and bring it back to heel, holding the bird in mouth until you take it out. A dog at this level should be ready for the Started or Junior level of HRC or AKC hunt tests.
